- Basic Fly Casting: Local Stream Fishing – Have you ever watched "A River Runs Through it" and wished you could fly fish? Presenter Dave Kuhlkin will teach you the basics casting techniques. There will be room to practice your newly acquired skills.
- Spring Turkey Hunting in Western New York - Presenter John Arneth is currently a pro-staffer and elite field expert for both Remington, and Mossy Oak. John has many years of hunting experience and is a true sportsman along with being a professional guide for both turkey and deer hunting.
- Trapping for Fur, Predator, and Nuisance – Presenter Bob Samulson will give an overview of fur and trapping: laws, regulations and impact on the public. Bob will also cover nuisance trapping and dealing with squirrels, woodchucks raccoons, etc. and the laws pertaining to.
- Physical Fitness – Presenter Arthur Minery was just selected by the Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce as 2010 Business Person of the Year. He is the owner of Churchville Physical Therapy and an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast. He will present a safe approach to pre-hunt training to better prepare yourself for the rigors of hunting and other outdoor activities.
- Black Powder Guns & Rifles - Presenter Jack Linney of Churchville, NY has extensive experience with black powder and hunting. Come learn more about black powder than you thought possible from a seasoned expert.
- Tips and Tricks for Present Day Duck Hunting- Presenter Brian Danish will discuss the basics of duck hunting from decoys to decoy set-ups to hunting situations.
- Fly Tying (2 session class) – This is a double session (no scheduled break) taught by former Pearce member Gary Rose. Gary will be discussing various insect types, tying materials, tools, and techniques. You will then try your hand at tying a fly.
2:30 to 3:30 PM
- Fly Tying (continued) – Presenter Gary Rose will show you how to make your own flies. Learn insect types, tying materials, tools, tricks, and instruction on how to tie a fly.
- Food Plots for Deer, Planting Your Field of Dreams - Presenter Brad Lockwood is owner of Mossy Oak Biologics northeast research facility and hosted and produced the TV program "Love of the Hunt". Learn how to attract more deer to your property by planting a successful food plot and meet the local supplier, Higbies Farm Supply.
- Making and Using Turkey Calls - Presenter Bill Gummo is a self-taught turkey hunter and learned how to make his own turkey calls. This year you will be making your own call during the hour and be able to take it home with you. All the materials will be provided for a fee of $10 cash or check at the registration desk. There will only be 15 kits available on a first come first serve basis however the class is open to more people.
- Crappie & Pan Fishing - Learn the tricks along with the do's and don'ts of crappie and pan fishing from five time National Champion and five time New York State Angler of the Year James Missel. Jim was also the 2007 Ohio State Champion.
- Cycling, Riding in a Group – Presenter Bob DeRoo, one of our committee chairs is the owner of Pedallers Bike Shop. Bob has raced bicyles for over 35 years and coached the WNY Empire State Cycling Team to several gold medals in 15 years. He has been active in athletics since highschool and still rides 3,000 to 4,000 miles a year for transportation, fun, and fitness.
- Better Bow Shooting – Presenter Wayne Merritt of Hunters Landing will teach the basics of bow and release fit to shooter, six basic steps to correct shooting form, practice better shooting.
- Shooting - Markmanship - Jack Linney, a sportsman committee member is a seasoned expert around guns of eany type. Learn some tips and tricks to become a more accurate shot, specifically related to modern firearms.
3:45 to 4:45 PM
- Goose Hunting Tips for Success in the Field - Presenter Brian Danish will teach the ins and outs of Canada Goose hunting over water and in the field.
- Back Country Skiing – Presenter Peter "B.C." Niggli's interests began at the age of 12, followed by 50+ years of shared exposure, harvest and studies. Peter will discuss the value of using the back country especially as it relates to back country skiing.
- Fly Fishing Equipment and Casting 101 – Have you ever wanted to learn how to fly fish but did't know how to get started? Presenter Dave Kuhlkin will cover basic knots, rods, reels, flys, tippet, line weight, and various other tidbits.
- Bass Fishing - Learn the tricks along with the do's and don'ts of bass fishing from five time National Champion and five time New York State Angler of the Year James Missel. Jim was also the 2007 Ohio State Champion.
- Landscape Photography Basics - Photographer and RIT school of photography graduate David Ditzel will discuss the tools & techniques, from film to digital, for taking great landscape photographs. Also discussed will be the aesthetics that make an interesting landscape photograph.
- Dog Obedience and Training - This seminar covers basic dog obedience through the finished hunting dog, "something for every need". Pat Grefrath shares 40 years experience of hunting and training with dogs. How to buy a dog? What breeds work best? What is basic obedience? What is pointing?
